What is the difference between valeting and detailing?

There will be lots of differing opinions on this question, as one man’s detail maybe another’s valet. For us, where valeting stops - detailing starts.

If you're simply after a nice clean car then you don't necessarily need it 'detailed', it’s always best to relay as much information as possible and we can walk you through a few options. Detailing in essence really breaks down into two areas 'Correction and Protection', whichever is your main concern it always pays to consider the other as they complement each other. You can see an overview of each of our services here.

Do you charge more for certain vehicles?

Not only do vehicles come in a range of sizes they also are designed very differently, especially as time has moved on, you only have to look at something now compared to a few years ago and you'll see there’s way more compartments, storage spaces and little nooks and crannies to clean!

With this, certain vehicles may vary in price as they require more time spending on them. Feel free to contact us with the make and model of your vehicle for a more accurate quote.

Are you mobile?

Yes, we offer a mobile service as well as a fixed location for drop off.

Do you need water and power?

Our mobile service requires water and power to be provided by the customer.

Are you noisy?

For the most part...no! We aim to be as conscientious as we can, however some equipment we use such as vacuums, compressed air, polishers etc. can make some noise.

What areas do you cover?

We cover all of the UK. There is no travel charge for work within 15 miles of our base in Scunthorpe but further afield travel costs are added to any quotations.

Why can't I book my car in today?

We are always booked in advance as a majority of our work is time consuming which means it has to be carefully scheduled.

Are you insured?

We are covered by Coversure Gold who are a dedicated valeting and detailing insurance provider.

What experience do you have?

Speaking as the owner of D-Votion, I’ve always been renown for having a keen eye for detail, from owning my very first vehicle they've always stood out from the crowd.

In 2016 I was presented with the opportunity to start this business professionally, since that time I've attended many courses and training sessions from car care to leather restoration!

Why do you do such a thorough pre-inspection?

Pre-inspections allow a full assessment of the condition of your vehicle prior to any work commencing. This helps highlight any damaged or delicate areas, helping manage your expectations.

Why should I choose D-Votion?

There’s lots of choices out there for you to choose from and some really good detailers. What separates D-Votion from the rest? We believe it’s the whole experience, from first point of contact right through to the work and any after care you have a single point of contact. No one else can offer you our pride, passion, attention to detail, skills and knowledge.

Over the years we’ve worked on all kinds of vehicles from agricultural, bikes, cars lorries, watercraft from general cleaning to show preparation. Your pride and joy is in the safest of hands.

Do I need to have my brand new car detailed?

Even though your vehicle is brand new you'll be surprised at how many defects it is carrying, even the most expensive supercars tend to head straight to local detailers for correction. Bad wash practices at dealerships, contamination, swirls, scratches and general damage are picked up while under transportation - we are yet to see a new car that you would class as perfect.

How often should I have my vehicle detailed?

12-18 months is a good time frame for a full detail provided it’s maintained regularly between.

How long will it take?

This really depends on the level of service you have chosen but some things can be time consuming. During pre-inspection we’ll be able to offer you a reasonable time frame for how long the work should take.

How long will the protection last?

There is many factors that can affect the durability of protections applied to the vehicle. Things like the type of protection, how many miles the vehicles driven etc. All the products we recommend we have personally seen real world evidence of their claimed durability with correct maintenance and care.
